Art Detour, a multi-day community arts celebration that will take place March 15-20, 2018 throughout greater downtown Phoenix. This will mark the 30th anniversary of the festival, which will feature open studios and galleries, “meet the artist” talks and demos, self-guided trolley tours, street art, pop-up galleries, hands-on activities for families, performances and more. Named as “one of the most important events on Phoenix’s calendar” by Phoenix Mayor Greg Stanton, Art Detour 30 will highlight the influence of the arts in developing the dynamic city we enjoy today.

Step into more than 100 artist studios, galleries and other venues, as well as enjoy performances and activities. A “Kids’ Detour” with family-friendly activities will also be featured, as well as pop-up galleries, and docent-guided shuttles.

EVENT SCHEDULE:

  • Thursday, March 15 – Art d’Core Gala opening night celebration featuring a showcase of acclaimed Phoenix artists and auction.
  • Friday-Sunday, March 16-18 – The “Detour” of artist studios and key arts districts: Roosevelt Row, Warehouse District, Central Arts District, Historic Grand Avenue and the core of Downtown Phoenix. Attendees will get to see artists at work, talk to artists directly and be inspired by the creative energy that infuses downtown Phoenix. The event offers something for everyone in the family and makes visible the importance of the arts in defining our city.
  • Monday-Tuesday, March 19-20 – Symposiums that will support artists’ career development and identify actionable items to create a culturally rich and economically diverse city.
