Public (Art) Hanging

APPLICATION DEADLINE IS FEBRUARY 20!

Artlink is proud to present its second annual Public (Art) Hanging during this year’s Art Detour 25 at Oasis on Grand Avenue!

Artists of all skill levels are encouraged to submit hangable works of art for public display during this annual event expected to draw thousands. The Public (Art) Hanging affords participants who are not presently showing or who have never displayed their art publicly, an opportunity to share it.

Art works must be hangable, self-contained, 20lb. max, no size maximum, but space is limited and on a first come first basis. This year, hanging mobiles and sculptures are also accepted. 100% of all art sales go to the artists.

The fee to participate is $25, and will serve to support Art Detour and other Artlink projects. The deadline for sign-ups is Wednesday, February 20, and artwork is to be dropped off on Friday, February 22, with drop-off details below. The application and payment details are available here.

The Public (Art) Hanging is a program of Art Detour, an annual, free, two-day self-guided tour of galleries, studios and other art related venues and businesses in downtown Phoenix organized by Artlink in cooperation with the Arts Districts and participating venues.

This year, Art Detour 25 takes place on Saturday and Sunday, March 2 and 3, from 11:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.  On First Friday, March 1, there will be a Public (Art) Hanging artists reception from 6 p.m. – 10 p.m.  Artists are encouraged to invite family, friends and collectors to the opening and throughout Art Detour 25 weekend.

The free Art Detour shuttle will stop at the Oasis on Grand, in front of Public (Art) Hanging making this a prime location for the event.
